About CMI

CMI Music & Audio has grown to become one of Australia's leading and most respected distributors, nationally distributing and marketing contemporary professional musical instrument (MI), pro audio and hi tech products.
At CMI, understanding our customers' needs is just the beginning. Our commitment to excellence involves our collaborative approach - we bring our knowledge and enthusiasm to align with your requirements.
The challenges faced by Australian MI and audio dealers also apply to our business, and we are constantly looking at ways of improving ourselves and seeking better ways to do things. We ask ourselves how we can bring more value and a point of difference to our dealers' businesses through our business methods and our product mix.
Recent product acquisitions have broadened our focus and now allow CMI to service other departments of our MI and audio dealerships with world-leading brands that cover hi tech, recording, percussion and audio installation products; as well as offer support for large entertainment venues, stadiums, houses of worship and government facilities.
CMI has a team of dedicated product specialists to cover guitars, hi tech, percussion, pro audio and installations. These specialists are on call to answer any product or technical queries that may arise from customers and industry professionals. Product specialists are also available for dealer sales staff training and end-user product education presentations. They are also able to assist in system design and recommend the right products to suit a given project and - where required - are also committed to on-site demonstrations. In further assisting our product specialists, CMI has eight company-employed account managers strategically located throughout the states of Australia allowing quick, effective and direct service.

The Company

CMI Music & Audio has been wholly owned by the Trojkovic family since its inception back in 1978. Based in Melbourne, with its head office and national distribution warehouse of nearly 5,000 square metres, CMI maintains a stock holding in excess of $6 million. Founder Drago Trojkovic - in his role as managing director - was the main driving force of the company during the early days. CMI grew to become a leading distributor of musical and audio products directly targeted to the retail market.
Peter Trojkovic joined the company full time in 1996 to spearhead and implement the company's planned future growth and expansion into the pro audio and installation markets. Peter brought over 20 years' experience in the pro audio field, having been the founder and principal of a concert production company in the 80s and 90s. Peter is today involved in all aspects of pro audio markets both nationally and internationally.
In 2002, CMI sought the services of Graeme Mitchell, a proven achiever and 25-year veteran in distribution and marketing. Graeme's appointment proved so successful that, in 2006, he became a director and shareholder in the company. Graeme's motivation and knowledge has seen CMI launch into a diverse range of exciting markets, with products for newer markets such as hi-tech, recording studios and music software now available from CMI.
At CMI we have an intimate understanding of the guitar, hi tech, studio and pro audio markets and we take our responsibility to our customers seriously. We work diligently to make sure we exceed our customers' expectations at every level.

Service & Support

In order to service our clients in a timely manner, CMI has electronic repair service agreements in all major cities and most regional centres across Australia. With this model, we are best placed to meet our customers' needs in a quick and timely manner. To back up CMI's national service centres, we employ dedicated service technicians at head office who are able to assist with specific technical questions and who maintain a large stock of spare parts in order to meet most requirements. CMI is able to deliver within 24 hours to most capital cities and within a maximum of three days to other major centres in Australia.
