The SOS Awards are accolades bestowed by Sound On Sound magazine upon music-technology products, selected by reader voting, from a shortlist of items nominated for their contribution to the music technology industry over the previous twelve months.

These prestigious awards, which were initiated in 2011, are handed over each year at the Winter NAMM show, in Anaheim, California, USA. Every year this hugely respected and influential magazine lists its top pick of equipment over the year and offers its readers a chance to vote on the selected products.

This year, CMI's brands are very well represented - see the rundown as follows:

K812 Superior Reference Headphones

Mackie DL1608

Despite being on the market for nearly 4 years now the constant updates via Master Fader has meant the DL1608 has yet another nomination for best mixer. The latest version of Master Fader 4.5 includes new all new reverb algorithms for a fuller sounding less digital reverb, spectrograph option for RTA, RTA on all input channels, A whole host of new factory presets, additional control for metering behavior and FX return EQ. Tascam US 20X20

Tascam have always been famous for their recording interfaces and their largest computer interface gets the recognition it deserves. TASCAM's US-20x20 packs 20 channels of analog and digital I/O into a single rackspace with great sounding preamps and USB 3.0/2.0 connectivity. Eight Ultra-HDDA microphone preamps provide 56dB of gain and high headroom to make microphones sound their best. Up to ten channels of digital I/O are included on ADAT and S/PDIF connectors, with word clock also provided for use with external clocks like TASCAM's CG-1000. MIDI I/O allows use with controllers and synthesizers, and sample rates up to 192kHz/24-bit are supported.
