6 March 2017: Entech wraps-up with AKG winners and a showcase of great gear

After some very early starts and late finishes, many kilometres by air and some truly horrendous bar bills, Entech 2017 is wrapped up. A big thank you goes out to Julius, Jason, Steve and Jack and all their road crew for helping put on a great show.

Entech is one of the local industry's best opportunities to showcase new and innovative products and this year's event saw CMI showing off some of the best in the form of the new Mackie AXIS digital mixing system, the HK Audio Elements Big Base speaker set and the incredibly impressive Adamson Point Series.

We were also extremely proud to exhibit the Adamson S10 line array system in audio demonstration sessions. Those who heard it were left in no doubt as to why Hillsong Church and 8th Day Sound have invested so heavily in it.

Additionally, a major part of our stand was for our newest brand AKG. We exhibited the best in stage, wireless and install microphones and we are looking forward to developing new relationships with this amazing brand.

AKG C7 Winners Entech 2017

The real star of the show from AKG was the C7 microphone. The C7 is a live condenser mic that combines a custom-tuned super-cardioid condenser capsule and combines it with mechano-pneumatic shock absorber for minimal handling noise. To celebrate the arrival of this microphone CMI actually gave some away as prizes for a cable rolling competition held at each leg of the show. Pitting the rolling skills of sound engineers, installers and roadies from around Australia, the C7 was awarded to one lucky winner in each state. Competitors had to prove their skill by rolling then running out a large length of cable to the exacting standards of Judge Jason Allen.
A big congratulations to all our winners who are listed below and we hope they enjoy the use of this great microphone in the future. The C7 is in stock now and has an RRP of $599

The winners were:

Brisbane: Dan 'Spud' Walter freelance sound engineer Melbourne: Gerard Hook theatre operator for Stage Pass Perth: Alistair Swanson Owner Alistair's Repairs and Replacements Adelaide: David Tomlinson Production Manager at AVAST Sydney: Rob Production Manager of 'Home' the Venue
