as the new Australian distributor for Universal Audio

Music and Audio have been awarded the Australian distribution
for Quested Monitoring Systems
- one of the world's most highly respected reference
speaker manufacturers.
This announcement coincides with the news of Roger Quested's
reacquisition of the Quested company from the Soundmix
Group. It was achieved with the assistance of new co-owner
Guy Lewis, a long standing active member of the industry.
"More than 40 companies manufacture
studio monitors of some type, but no other company has
the acoustic design ability of Roger, the successful
history in the biggest studios worldwide and a range
of affordable monitoring with such incredible levels
of performance and accuracy" Guy said.
The Quested roll call includes Hugh Padgham,
Jean Michell Jarre, Joan Armatrading, Jazzy Jeff, Whitney
Houston's studio, Michael Cretu (Enigma), Rod Temperton
(he wrote Thriller), Mutt Lange, The Neptunes, DJ Umek,
Ray Davies, Alvin Lee, Boyz II Men, Dave Matthews Band,
Enya, Gloria Estefan, UNKLE, Star City Recording, Carl
Craig, Yello, and thousands of others around the world.
Roger Quested developed the soft-dome monitoring system
in the early eighties following his illustrious career
as an engineer and studio manager for groups such as
Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd. The system vastly improved
sound monitoring accuracy, previously only available
in a few selected ultra high-end Hi-Fi speakers. Requests
for these systems among engineers, producers, studios,
driver manufacturers became so numerous, Roger decided
to start Quested Monitoring Systems - this popularity
continues today.
"Our big system designs have seen resurgence, while
the smaller powered monitors continue to be picked up
in all areas of recording," Roger explained.
CMI are excited about what this appointment means to
Australia, Sales & Marketing Director Graeme Mitchell

of such high quality with such a long and impressive
history."
